Spanish tenor Vicente Ombuena Valls was born in Valencia and rose to international recognition after winning First Prize at the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition, where he also received the special award from Plácido Domingo for Best Tenor.
He was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Mainz and made his debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan in Don Pasquale, conducted by Riccardo Muti.
Over a career spanning four decades, he has performed internationally and collaborated with leading conductors including Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, and Riccardo Chailly. Since 2024, he has been a full member of the Valencian Academy of Music.
His teaching philosophy centers on authenticity of expression, technical freedom, and the unique beauty of each singer's voice. Singers leave his masterclasses not only with refined technique, but with a deeper artistic identity.
