THE BULK HOUSE Become healthier, happer and greener through the zero waste lifestyle at The Bulk House.

The world was going in the right direction until around 2015 but, then there were a few mishaps:

- worsening climate change,
- a certain "leader" in America
- some insane human rights violations around the world
and
- a certain exit beginning with "Br".

But, let's put these not-so-good years behind us! Get Jeremy Corbyn into No. 10 in the UK and Bernie Sanders into the White House.

I would be even more optimistic for a better world if these 2 great individuals were leading these 2 very powerful countries.

Don't believe the lies being spread about these great men. Support them. Share great news about them and remember that a few billionaires own the media corporations and so they don't want these guys in power. Why? Because they will make the world a better, happier and cleaner place. A world like that isn't good for those greedy billionaires who make more money from fear and false hopes. Let's create real hope based on real life.

Apple Just f**king stop it! You do not need to mine the oceans. What you need to do is realise that enough is enough.

Anyone working for Apple in the HQ, in stores around the world, please read on...

If you are at Apple and you think "But, I am just one person, they won't listen to me." A company is made up of individuals, the more individuals who speak up and act the more likely change will have.

You have a market cap of 720 billion USD (or something ridiculous like that).
You make great products
or
Perhaps, I should say, you made products. I say this because I am carrying out the same tasks on Macbook from 2011 as people next to me who have the new shiny Macbook, I can't see much change between them.
As you know, most people don't need a new laptop or phone every 2 years or so. Most people don't need high-end laptops with the latest technology as the majority of people use their laptop to watch videos, send emails and use things like Microsoft Office (oh, and this message is also for you Microsoft )

But, you lot at Apple and other companies that have become too powerful continue to bring out new versions again and again because what Apple is best at is MARKETING.
And, what MARKETING is best at is MAKING PEOPLE BUY MORE THINGS THAT THEY DON'T NEED.
And, when an insanely growing global population ALL buy things they don't need this RUINS THE PLANET! But, it mainly just RUINS THE PLANET for the poorest members of society, the rich will be fine. They can move from the problems, buy their ways out of the problem, but the poor, they will die because of this rapidly changing climate that is changing so fast they are unable to prepare for it.
The more apple tricks people into buying more things the more our ocean and land suffer. Our ocean and land! Not just your and land! Everyone's!

I type this on Macbook Pro I bought brand new in 2011, as my secondhand iPhone 7 sits to my side.
I look after them, I replaced a hard drive on the Macbook so it could continue on living. I put my phone on flight mode when not using to let it rest a little. If you taught your customers to look after their things and didn't teach them that there current phone or laptop soon won't be good enough for them you would gain respect and with all your money you could make the world a better place. But, you pander to investors and to your team who want more and more money through the share plans you give them.

Producing less means you won't ruin the oceans.
Making products easier for customers to fix means you won't ruin the oceans.
Making products cheaper for customers to fix means you won't ruin the oceans.
Educating your customers about the environment means you won't ruin the oceans.
Recycling your machines better means you won't ruin the oceans.

You have the power to stop a dangerous new industry from wrecking our oceans.

Governments need to invest more in infrastructure and we need more people on bicycles and e-bikes. Cars are very rarely needed in cities, they are such a waste of money, cause so many deaths, clog up the roads and, oh, yeah, they f*ck the planet!

Sure, China is a big player in creating a lot of plastic waste, but, 1 thing we need to understand is that most developed countries are simply shipping the majority of their waste to other countries to make it "out of sight out of mind".

This is simply moving the problem elsewhere, this, of course, is not solving the problem but actually creating a bigger problem for less developed countries that cannot deal with literal mountains of waste.

This is polluting soil, air and water systems.

*** Let's all do our bit and work to eradicate single-use plastics from our life.
Start with something small and build a lasting habit, move onto the next small action and keep going from there. Your small changes will result in a big impact. ***

China is no longer taking the whole world's trash, so it can now take care of its own.

Anybody can become angry, that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way, that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST BREATH OF FRESH AIR!
We often worry that we are the only ones that keep talking about real solutions to the real problems and we are forever seeing and hearing all these "philanthropists" talking about ideas and we think to ourselves "Isn't that a little hypocritical?"

We aren't just anti-waste, we are also anti bullsh*t!
We are also MASSIVELY anti the rich who created the problems in the first place getting richer from the solutions! The problems they created made them rich in the first place. False marketing, creating FOMO, polluting the air, oceans and soils. Buy! Buy! Buy! Must have! Must have! Must have! instead of empowering consumers to think "Do I need this?" "Can I afford this?"

NOW the rich are creating "solutions" to the problems that they created in the first place!
This can't f*cking happen!
This is wrong!
Their is no justice!
The rich cannot be the ones that come up with all these recycling and reusing schemes to clear up the problems they started in the 1st place. Support the new guys (and gals) that started the grassroots movements and they genuinely care about solving the problem.
Don't let the few big companies crush us small guys.

This few big companies are sitting back and watching us create solutions, build communities and work our arses off to clear up the mess they created in the 1st place. Don't let them win. Don't listen to any more of their lies, they are really good at telling lies. I have watched talks from these companies and they have almost tricked me again, they are very convincing. Stay hungry! But, don't be foolish in this instance!

OUR STORY

It began from frustration

We all have frustrations in life, but how often do we try to do something about them?

Carrie Yu (the founder of THE BULK HOUSE) was frustrated (frustration No. 1) from feeling overwhelmed. Realising that a clear and organised bedroom helped her relax, Carrie decided to make this a more permanent thing and decluttered the things she didn't use, need or love. A journey through minimalism had begun.

As someone who is very fond of long walks, hiking and camping, it was on these walks that Carrie started to notice another thing frustrating her, pollution in the air and pollution (in the form of trash) on the ground (frustration No. 2). From here, Carrie started researching about trash and came across a lady named Bea Johnson who lives a zero waste lifestyle. Bea and her family of 4 only produce 1 jar of trash each year! Inspired, Carrie started to reduce her own trash with the full intention of aiming for zero.
