incredible networking and learning experience. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might start a company with, learn from mentors as well as learning from your peers. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. Introducing our last Jury member: Arthur Bailey

Arthur Bailey is a seasoned executive currently serving as Marketing Director at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he has been driving strategic marketing initiatives for over 4 years.

Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Arthur leads the planning and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that promote AWS products and services across the EMEA and LATAM regions.

In his current role, Arthur works closely with IT industry analysts to identify emerging cloud service trends and analyze customer buying behaviours, enabling AWS to strategically position its services and business initiatives to better meet evolving customer needs. His collaborative approach involves working with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, and customer advocacy to ensure consistent brand messaging reaches IT influencers and decision-makers. Arthur’s primary focus is on establishing AWS as the recognized leader in the cloud service marketplace through differentiated positioning and strategic communications.

His expertise spans multiple disciplines including Public Relations, Analyst Relations, Digital Marketing, Public Policy Development, and Executive Communications.

With a clear goal of managing global communications and marketing programs for innovative firms aspiring to be industry leaders, Arthur brings a wealth of experience in building and executing marketing strategies that drive business growth and market leadership in the competitive cloud services sector.

At the upcoming startupweekend in Zurich, he will form part of our trusted jury to decide which pitch wins the Fall Session 2025.

Welcome to the Jury, Julia!

Julia operates at the dynamic intersection of innovation, business, and academia, bringing a unique blend of entrepreneurial experience and strategic insight to the startup ecosystem. As a founder who has navigated the complete entrepreneurial journey-from product development and fundraising to operations management and brand building, she understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities that define early-stage ventures.

Her entrepreneurial foundation was built through hands-on experience creating a consumer brand from the ground up, where she mastered the critical skills of adaptation, delegation, and maintaining momentum through uncertainty. This practical expertise later evolved into a broader mission of supporting the next generation of innovators.

At Venturelab and Founder Institute Switzerland, Julia has worked extensively with dozens of founders, serving as a mentor, judge, and program leader. Her collaborative approach has fostered meaningful partnerships with industry leaders where she has designed and executed initiatives that bridge the gap between established corporations and emerging startups.

Currently pursuing an MSc in Business Administration from the ZHAW School of Management and Law, Julia is deepening her expertise in strategy, systems, and organizational development. Her academic focus aligns with her passion for exploring how startups, innovation, and education can intersect to create meaningful change and sustainable growth.

Introducing our third jury member: Pierre Jouve Chergui

Pierre is an Investment Manager at Zebra Impact Ventures, a Geneva-based venture capital firm that invests in Series A and B companies in the Agriculture and FoodTech spaces. He specializes in Food and Agri-Tech investments and Angel investing in Climate-Tech startups, excelling in market analysis, deal sourcing, and due diligence with a focus on Series A and B funding rounds in sectors like DeepTech and IoT.

His role at Zebra Impact Ventures is focused on ramping up the company’s investments, highlighted by recent major investments including Micropep and AgroSpheres.

Prior to Zebra Impact Ventures, Pierre held positions at Climate Insiders and Serpentine Ventures, where he led investments across various sectors including FoodTech, AI, eCommerce, and Robotics. Before joining the venture capital industry, he gained experience in investment banking, with a particular focus on deep tech transactions in Europe and the USA.

Pierre holds a degree from Esade Business & Law School and has cultivated an international background through experiences in the US, the UK, France, Switzerland, and Brazil. His professional foundation includes a background in finance and asset pricing, as well as experience in strategy consulting and hospitality.

He is dedicated to investing in nature-positive tech companies with a transformative mindset.

Based in Geneva, he continues to identify and support innovative startups in the technology and sustainability sectors, particularly those addressing global food production challenges and environmental sustainability.
