Ultramarine’s final show on Saturday, June 20 amps up the volume at the Yarmouth Legion with a bill featuring Truro power duo and recent winners of the Music Nova Scotia Award for Loud Recording of the Year, The Orchids, a return to the hometown stage for Mike D’Eon’s psych-rock band Fossil Cliffs, and Halifax math-rock outfit fencing.

Night 1 of Ultramarine at the Legion welcomes Halifax indie rockers Postfun, the band, Eskasoni-based award-winning Mi’kmaq rapper Gearl, and the debut performance from Yarmouth’s own Paper Doll Fire, a brand new band featuring members of Rain Over St. Ambrose, KLAR, and High Tide.

Ultramarine kicks off on Friday, June 19 at Holy Trinity Church with a special trio performance from acclaimed songwriter and JUNO nominee Mo Kenney! Halifax fog-rock quartet Quiet Parade opens the show, offering up a collection of songs from their 20-year catalogue inspired by Yarmouth.

This year's graphic design is based around a unique piece we commissioned from Brian Porter, an acclaimed visual artist from Yarmouth. Brian has shown his work all around the world, won multiple awards, and has also been the subject of two documentaries–one by the National Film Board and another by CBC Television.

File under: ✨ Really Special ✨Ultramarine’s closing night begins at Holy Trinity Church with Summer Solstice Songs, a unique presentation hosted by Laurie Brown – celebrated MuchMusic broadcaster, former host of CBC Radio 2’s The Signal, founder of the podcast Pondercast, and now a Yarmouth County resident. Spoken word pieces written specifically for the event by Laurie will be interspersed with a series of special guests including All Mother’s Jessi Churchill, Postfun, the band’s Jack Murtha, longstanding Yarmouth songwriter Connie Saulnier and Burnt Black bassist/Christopher Robin Device co-founder Marcus Webster, performing songs inspired by summer ahead of the solstice.
