Most of you already know, but to those who don't, we lost Duff on Monday.

If you attended the fest, you probably caught him on stage hosting a show, or doing magic tricks in the beer garden, or you saw him lumbering down the block trying to track down comics. If you performed at the festival, you know that he cared most about making sure every comedian enjoyed their time in his city. If you knew him personally, you are lucky to have enjoyed a little piece of his time on earth, and you know what a special person he was. He might have been grouchy, but he loved everyone intensely. He was a good comedian, but a much better person.

We'll miss you, John. We love you.

John B Duff is a comedian, brother, friend, Oddblock Comedy Fest co-founder, and an all around great guy who has fought several battles with cancer in his lifetime.

In early 2019 John started having problems with with his motor skills, specifically on the left side of his body. Scans had revealed lesions on his brain. From there it got rapidly worse for John.

In the last ten months John has completely lost control of the left side of his body. Initial life expectancy was 3-5 years with treatment, but the chemo and radiation treatments have since been stopped to improve his quality of life.

Recent scans of John’s brain revealed level 4 glioblastoma. Here's some information on his diagnosis:

Currently, John is in a very nice long term care facility called Riverview Health Centre. He has a nice room with a beautiful view of the courtyard. John needs our help to pay bills for medication, room rental, internet/cable, etc.

John wants to send a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that has supported him through the initial GoFundMe setup by his friend Chad Knutson. It has had a major impact on his life.
