In Reflection of International Women’s Day

Yesterday we celebrated International Women’s Day. Today and every day we continue that celebration by recognizing the incredible women who help bring the Toronto Caribbean Carnival to life.

From masqueraders dazzling along the parade route, to dancers, musicians, costume designers, volunteers, vendors, band leaders and cultural ambassadors, women have always been at the heart of Carnival.

Their creativity, leadership and energy shape the spirit of the festival each year. Through vibrant costumes, powerful performances and community leadership, women continue to honour Caribbean traditions while inspiring the next generation to embrace culture, identity and joy.

The women of Carnival are storytellers, innovators and changemakers. They carry the rhythm, colour and history of Caribbean culture forward, both on the road and behind the scenes.

For International Women’s Day and very day, we celebrate the women who make Carnival happen.

Thank you for the passion, talent and resilience you bring to our community.
