One of the things I appreciate most about Creative Women's Week is the amazing ideas that come from the ladies who attend. ❤️

Last year, one attendee shared that the music volume in the room was too loud for her. The main speaker was right behind her table. The reality is that unless a venue has a built-in sound system, there is almost always someone who finds the music too loud and someone else who can't hear it well enough.

Trying to solve that issue on site got me thinking.

After doing some research, I invested in this speaker system. Instead of one speaker trying to serve an entire room, multiple speakers are placed throughout the crafting area. They all connect to the same playlist, but each pod of tables can adjust the volume up or down to their own comfort level.

It has been one of the best upgrades I've made. 🎉

The feedback has been incredible, and it has helped make the crafting space more comfortable for everyone.

So thank you to the ladies who share ideas, suggestions, and feedback. Many of the little things that make Creative Women's Week special started with a conversation just like that. ❤️

Running Creative Women's Week has taught me one thing...

Finding the perfect retreat center is nearly impossible. 😂

I want bright, comfortable crafting space with plenty of room to spread out.

I want great accommodations.
I want beautiful scenery.
I want amazing food.
I want comfortable chairs.
I want a place where ladies can relax, create, connect, laugh, and truly feel cared for.

Every venue seems to get some things right and other things wrong. One has a beautiful location but tiny workspaces. Another has great rooms but poor food. Another has lots of space but lacks the atmosphere.

At this point, I think the only solution might be to build my own! 😂

A lakeside retreat center surrounded by trees. A massive bright crafting room with comfortable chairs and great lighting. This pic is missing the 12ft table configuration but it is stunning still A beautiful solarium with gardens and our eating tables, a hot tub, sauna, and lap pool. Comfortable hotel-style rooms with private baths. Plenty of space to gather, create, and recharge.

A girl can dream, right? ❤️

Where are the perfectly organized rows of cold beverages?

Where are the fancy sparkling waters?

Where is the magical person keeping it stocked and looking Pinterest-worthy at all times?

Instead, mine usually contains a random assortment of leftovers, half-empty bottles, and at least one thing that nobody is claiming ownership of. 😂

A girl can dream...

For me, it’s definitely my Creative Memories paper cutter. I genuinely don’t think I could function without it at retreat 😂

That said… I also bring a spare cutter plus lots of extra tools and equipment because someone always forgets their must-have item at home 👀❤️

One of my favorite things about these retreats is how much the ladies teach EACH OTHER. ❤️

Cricut tips, sublimation help, card techniques, organization hacks… there is always someone willing to help.

We also do creative challenges where everyone gets to see each other’s work, gain inspiration, and walk away with new ideas they may never have thought of before.

This was the card challenge from Manitoba this year and the creativity from the ladies was incredible. ✨

So much more goes into these events than people realize 😂

It doesn't quite look like the visual here, or else I wouldn't be able to fit it on one page. It is an entire Google drive of different spreadsheets, all connected for financial accuracy.

Planning, organizing, packing, prizes, layouts, room assignments, vendors, the menu, schedules for make and takes, etc, porters for your goods, daily table gifts, tech equipment, supplies and tools for you to use, table cloths, the snack table items, the fridge of drinks, getting all your requests straight, the baskets for what you may have forgotten, the financials, payments, due dates and so much more...........

… and somehow trying to remember where I put everything. 🤨
