Dear Red Deer:
First off, THANK YOU! Sincerely, thank you for showing up. The immense fear of taking on a project of this magnitude and having no one show up is real. I appreciate you all so much. What an incredible weekend!
One week ago this morning I was preparing for the unknown. What transpired, was pure magic and true community. From all of the performers, volunteers, staff and the vendors it was nothing short of a miracle that we pulled off.
A very special shout out to our sponsors that made a giant financial portion of this possible. Whether you are a big corporation or an independent artist/business, supporting the arts community isn’t just a line item expense or a promotional tool for your business. It’s an investment. A direct injection of life into a culture of absolute awesomeness. Art brings us together. It speaks to us in a way that no other medium can. Whether it be music, comedy, painting, film, television, dance etc. Art gives us connection. Connection gives us passion, and when we are passionate, it sparks action. Action is where all businesses start at the core. So, thank you for fuelling this dream.
I’d like to recognize the amazing food/market vendors that showed up to be a part of this event. Thank you for delivering. Thank you for being in the hot sun and serving this community. The smiles on attendees faces while enjoying your products were priceless. I truly am grateful for you all making this event extra special to our community.
To the performers. I love you. I don’t know what else to say other than thank you for your dedication to your craft. 100% this festival was special because of all of you. Seeing you on the stage and lounging in the camaraderie as the sun moved through the day was nothing short of incredible. Thank you.
To the crew/volunteers/security, OMG. Everyone worked so incredibly hard. We did it. From the sound, the backstage, the techs, the beverage garden and everything in between. You all worked so hard. Thank you.
Most of all, thank you Red Deer for showing up. Sincerely, it blew my mind the numbers we were reaching throughout the weekend. You made it through the hot sun and YOU made it special.
