Why We're Playing. Why We're Fundraising. Why This Matters.

As registrations continue to come in for the Bad to the Bone All Women's Pickleball Tournament, we wanted to take a moment to share the reason behind this event and the cause that is so close to our hearts.

One of our own pickleball family members, Jean Guy Belzile, is courageously facing the challenges of Multiple Myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. Alongside his wife, Erin, Jean Guy has experienced firsthand the difficulties of navigating cancer care in Northern Ontario while fighting this disease.

Despite the obstacles they face, Jean Guy and Erin continue to give back to our community and are active members of the organizing team behind this tournament, along with Julie Charette, Tim Simpson, Carole Paiement and many dedicated volunteers.

This tournament is more than just a day of pickleball, it's an opportunity to raise awareness, support research, and help improve the lives of Canadians affected by Multiple Myeloma through Myeloma Canada.
