Our final screening of the season is upon us! This documentary of the late Edna O’Brien is one not to miss! Famous and infamous, Irish author Edna O’Brien was one of the world's most renowned writers. She had illicit love affairs and threw star-studded parties in London and New York. Her books were banned and burned in Ireland, her work denounced from the pulpits of churches. In the months leading up to her death, Edna O’Brien sat down with filmmaker Sinéad O'Shea to talk about her life, bolstered by archival footage and Edna’s diary entries and memoir read aloud by Academy Award winning actress Jessie Buckley.

Three unlikely thieves, led by a woman on the verge of a breakdown, rob a rural Irish Credit Union. Opening in the tragic aftermath of the heist-gone-wrong, the story uses reverse chronology to unravel the events that led to this point. What starts as a poorly executed robbery becomes a portrait of a wilful woman trapped in her own past.
