Get • .pec 💔 With heavy hearts, we’re cancelling our upcoming Nowruz gathering. While we believe deeply in the power of coming together in times of crisis, we as organizers don’t have the capacity to hold this space right now - we have family across the SWANA region and diaspora who are being directly and devastatingly affected by this war and the ongoing injustice our people continue to experience. It’s simply too much to carry alongside hosting.

As always, we condemn all dictatorships as well as American and Zionist imperialism and military violence, which continue to bring immense harm to our communities.

All tickets will be fully refunded. Thank you for your understanding, care, and solidarity - we hope to gather again when we have the capacity to do so with the presence and care this community deserves.

Welcoming rebirth season once again, and again… and again, with loving gratitude and steadfastness.🌷

Join us at Maktaba Bookshop from March 17th until the 31st as we mark the arrival of Nowruz 1404 with our third annual installation of the Sofreh-ye Haft Seen, aka the Table of Seven S’s.

Nowruz, meaning ‘new day’ in persian, is the spring equinox which many indigenous communities consider as the beginning of a New Year and nature cycle. As we observe the victory of light over darkness, and the season of rebirth, the haftseen table is a visual representation of prayers and intentions for a new day.

Coinciding with the Holy Month of Ramadan, we invite you to take a few moments to rest and reflect in the Majlis as we welcome Nowruz. 🤲🏽

Pick up your very own sabzeh (microgreens in progress) and continue watering it at home until it’s time to make a wish and release it to nature 13 days after Nowruz. Follow for daily tips on sabzeh care.🌱

We’re only days away from the Swap & Sew Bazaar and we are pumped to welcome nowruz 1404 and the spring equinox together with you all—our beloved community of proud misfits. Bring your friends and relatives. It’s a community affair and we want to meet all your kin.🥰

Drop in anytime this Saturday March 15, 2025 at between 12-5pm.

Come give your wardrobe new life, sustainably, as an act of resistance to fast fashion and capitalism. Sharing is caring! Divert waste from landfills, oceans and shores abroad, and have fun with your friends while doing it.🪡

Drop in on Saturday March 15, 2025 from 12pm to 5pm at Bâtiment 7 (1900 Rue le Ber, Montréal, QC H3K 2A4) and celebrate the arrival of spring with a day of swapping clothes, mending and sewing, food and storytelling, performances and more.

Bring your gently used clothes for the swap or get crafty at our sewing station to give your old pieces their moment for spring rebirth. 🌱

Whether you’re a culture keeper or a fashion enthusiast, there’s something for everyone at the bazaar. Don’t miss out on this fun and sustainable way to refresh your wardrobe for the new season ahead.
