Wow! These gorgeous chairs have lived a hard life. Bought over 60 years ago, they began as lobby chairs for a local business (imagine being able to relax in an original Wegner while waiting for your appointment!). They were “retired” to the owner’s apartment and lived next to the radiator for years. The wood frame dried out, pieces were lost, the cane seats broken. One chair ended up with a strange attempt at a new woven seat. They needed a complete overhaul! That’s what they got! The frames got stripped down, re-oiled, missing pieces fabricated and attached, and new cane all around. Good for another 60 years! Thanks to the wood experts for all their help. Wow!! If you are in the market for new dining room chairs, RUN, don’t walk, and get these!! This set of six Bramin rosewood chairs came to me with dated green velour seats. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but the wood frames were just GORGEOUS! I stripped off the old seats, saved the original labels to be reapplied later, and rewove the complete set with Danish cord. The before/after is quite dramatic. These chairs won’t last long! If you’re interested, get in touch with Paul
