It's not OSU, but it's a big deal. Super Bowl LV is today. Who are you rooting for to win? As Buckeyes fans you may be interested to know that neither of the two teams, Kansas City Chiefs or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have former OSU players on their team. Absent of any other loyalty preferences, some of you may be temped to cheer on the Buccaneers because that sounds closer to Buckeyes than Chiefs. A few may be thinking that a team called the Chiefs is cultural appropriation (which is likely true) and who would want to root for that team. On the other hand, would someone want to hope that lawless seagoing bandits come out ahead, especially based in Florida?

This may be a deciding factor for you. Kansas City has three former Michigan players on their roster (Frank Clark, defensive end; Mike Danna, defensive end; and backup quarterback, Chad Henne) while Tampa Bay only has one, Tom Brady (Brady's dubious deflate-gate scandal aside).

OSU Buckeyes men's and women's basketball teams play Iowa this evening, 7 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. Both Buckeyes teams are doing well this season - OSU Women ranked 11th and Men moved up to 7th, nationally. Both teams are 4th in .

Sadly, being underdogs in last night’s game was a reality. Alabama played their usual strong game and was just too much for our beloved Buckeyes. It’s easy to talk about the “what ifs” and criticize players and coaches for what did or did not happen in the game. But that will not change the fact that we did not win. The loss is disappointing, but the Buckeyes had some very good plays and did not quit! We must celebrate being in the 2021 National Championship game. We must show sportsmanship and congratulate Alabama on the win and accept the results without question. There will be next year, and The Ohio State University Buckeyes will likely be highly ranked. For all of us true fans, they will always be the number one reason for our university/college football fervour. Go Buckeyes!
