DEPARTMENT: Dave Barber Cinematheque
SUPERVISOR: Film Programmer
HOURS: 10 hours per week
WAGE: $19.69/hour + vacation pay

This is a unionized position covered under the Collective Agreement between the Winnipeg Film Group and IATSE Local 63. All terms of employment, including wages and benefits, are subject to the provisions of the Agreement.

The Winnipeg Film Group is seeking a Short Film Programming Assistant for an in-person 17-week term. This position is unionized and covered under the WFG’s Collective Agreement with IATSE Local 63. It is classified as a Term position. Reporting to the Film Programmer, the Short Film Programming Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the screening and organizing of the short film submissions for the 2026 Gimme Some Truth Documentary Festival, November 5 – 8, 2026.
The Short Film Programming Assistant will support the Film Programmer in managing film submissions, festival curation, and filmmaker experience. This role works closely with the Film Programmer and offers a fantastic opportunity to learn while contributing to the successful ex*****on of the GST festival’s film programming and the achievement of its artistic vision.
