IT IS BACK!

It is with great anticipation that we announce the return of The Rafferty Rumble to Estevan. This high energy weekend will take place July 26th, 27th, and 28th in Estevan. It will be a weekend full of sports, music, street fair, market and street dance. The weekend is being organized by many volunteers across the city with cooperation from sports organizations, business owners, community members and members of the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum Board of Directors. The weekend will feature a slo-pitch tournament, flag football tournament, races at Estevan Motor Speedway, soccer tournament, and ball hockey tournament with plans still in the works for a golf tournament, beach volleyball tournament and fishing derby. On July 27th, Downtown will be rocking as the day will start with a pancake breakfast sponsored and donated by the Tower Café and the Sereggela family, the Downtown Business Association will be working together to host a large street fair and the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum will be working hard to bring an artisan and art market and one of the largest music festivals to hit the Energy City to date. Artists that have been confirmed to date include the Ross LeBlanc Trio, Megan Nash, Nick Faye & the Deputies, El Guitaro and to end our night and back by popular demand – FOGDOG. Additional bands will be announced as we lead up to the day, including headliners for the event. Finally, the Downtown Show and Shine from years past will make a return. Josh LeBlanc, head organizer of the event states, “The idea behind this event is to revitalize and improve on a strong event our city has seen in years past. There has been a large interest for this to come back and it is our hope that this event will provide an exciting summer opportunity for people in and out of our community, fill hotel rooms, and raise money for some very worthy causes in town”. Many of the organizations that are involved are in need of funds for facility upgrades, funds to provide programming or have faced major funding cuts and need funds to simply operate. “This event is meant to bring some excitement to the city, restore and rejuvenate civic pride and overall energize citizens and attract others from the surrounding communities to experience what the Energy City has to offer”, says LeBlanc. Proceeds from the event will go to the cooperating sports groups and organizations that come on board to help host one of the largest events this city will see. If there are any other groups or organizations that would like to participate in this, they are encourage to call Josh LeBlanc at 306.421.6778. The organizing committee hopes that everyone will keep their eye on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and our website (raffertyrumble.com) for updates on the weekend and all of the events that will happen! “We all are looking forward to bringing a high calibre event to you in the summer of 2019 and we all can’t wait to see you there”.
