"Bringing you the sights, sounds, and savor of diverse representations of African, Caribbean and Latinx cultures all in one place" ~ The Afro Latin Festival YEG by La Connexional The Afro Latin Festival is a celebration of the uniqueness of and inter-connectivity between African, Caribbean and Latinx cultures through music dance, arts, education, and entrepreneurship. Last March of 2019, the first edition of the Festival hosted 50+ creatives and brought together over 500 Edmontonians to rejoice, share and experience a multitude of acts ranging from powerful spoken word performances to high energy African drumming passing by a full Salsa & full Reggae band, and an interactive Soca workshop that allowed the entire crowd to feel and witness authentic Caribbean culture!
In its first edition, The Afro Latin Festival YEG simultaneously hosted international and local live music acts, showcasing the talents and diversity of the African, Caribbean and Latinx communities through our artists, providing our festival patrons the opportunity to take home a part of the experience through our various partners, while bringing fresh tropical and international vibes with our headliner that is originally from Dominica Republic but resided in Los Àngeles.
Our motto is #WinterIsCancelled and every single year we promise to stand by it! Join us for a legendary night of pure vibes and blessed community and forget all about the ice, the frostbite and glacial winds as we transport you to a world where the sun is hot, the drinks are cold and the people are vibing.
