Compete, connect, and celebrate gaming culture with us! 🚀 Fragapalooza is a volunteer operated event that gathers the local gaming community, once a year, for a four day LAN. Gamers of all ages pack up their computers and join together playing any number of hundreds of video games with or against one another. Initially events like Fragapalooza were necessary in order to have lag-free gaming experiences, but over the years the event has evolved into something more, where the community comes together despite the advent of cheap high-speed internet. Gamers also gather to compete head-to-head against each other for prizes and prestige. Often the geek is maligned these days, depicted on shows like Big Bang Theory as little more than a comedic trope. But in reality gamers come from all walks of life and in both genders, as is often misrepresented. The diversity of gamers is always fascinating as young gamers meet with veterans on the fields of their opposing screens. Throughout the event the participants are given the chance to win many prizes through random draws/contests or to victors of the tournaments. With the help of our sponsors, Fragapalooza has awarded participants prizes ranging from computer components to complete gaming systems. Without the continued support and generosity of our sponsors, domestic and internationally, we would not be able to host the event or offer great prizes. There are hundreds of great opportunities for photo-ops or videos as we get our gamers to do some really crazy things to win prizes. In the past we’ve held events which range from chair racing, 300-man dodge ball tournaments or 256-man (so it works down to 2 players at the end) paper-rock-scissors tournaments, paper airplane contests, keyboard tosses or even competitions where gamers compete to see who can disassemble their computers and rebuild them the fastest.
