With 3,000+ chocolate lovers already interested, the response to bringing the Salon to Toronto has been incredible.

To match that enthusiasm, we’re taking the time to build an even bigger, more delicious, and more immersive experience — featuring a full lineup of artisan chocolatiers, tastings, and special programming.

Other things you can make from the components of chocolate

Do you know that only 20% of the cacao fruit is used to make chocolate?

The remaining 80% (cacao pod, placenta, cacao pulp and cacao bean husks) is usually discarded because only the cacao beans inside are useful in the production of chocolate 🍈🚮

But companies are finding innovative ways to recycle and upcycle all the other precious parts of the cacao fruit!

Cacao drinks are becoming super popular lately, so here I wanted to show you 4 of them I had in my pantry:

🧉 CACAO WATER 🧉
The sweet and fruity cacao pulp that surrounds the cacao beans inside the fruit is turned into a fresh yet natural drink without added sugar. This is coconut water for chocolate lovers.

🥤 CACAO SODA 🥤
When the cacao bean shells are separated from the cacao nibs during the winnowing process, they are usually thrown away. Here they find new life in a fizzy drink to be enjoyed alone or in creative cocktails.

🥃 CACAO LIQUOR 🥃
The cacao bean shells enter the distillery to be turned into a liquor that has nothing to envy to rum or gin. Cacao nuances, syrupy texture and a tipsy aftertaste.

☕️ CACAO TEA ☕️
Cacao bean shells are infused in hot water for about 3-4 minutes for a warm beverage that tastes and smells like chocolate, but with the lightness of a tea.

Who knew that cacao waste could taste so delicious!
