Another project highlight, this time for its polished concrete.

The new Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency (HRFE) Headquarters and Station #8 in West Bedford is currently under construction on Science Park Drive, with completion targeted for spring 2026. The $36--40 million facility will feature a four-bay station, administrative offices, logistics operations, and a training center. Welcoming visitors as the first thing they see entering the building will be the polished concrete floor by Team Techno.

From the early stages of site prep to the first slabs to where this project stands today — it’s incredible to look back at how far it has come. We’re proud to highlight a project that has become a major milestone for the THS Concrete team. The QEII Infirmary Expansion Project.
To date, in only 9 months, our crews have:
• Placed over 20,000 cubic yards of concrete (in slabs alone)
• Steel trowel finished more than 620,000 square feet of slab surface
• Successfully achieved stringent floor flatness tolerances throughout the project.
What makes this project even more meaningful to us is that THS Concrete is one of very few Nova Scotia-based companies completing our entire scope on this scale without partnering portions of the work out to other contractors.
This project has demanded consistency, coordination, quality control, and a tremendous amount of hard work from our field crews, supervisors, and office team. We’re extremely proud of everyone involved and grateful to be part of a project of this magnitude.

We completed a 55,000sf warehouse slab — 8" thick — using an overhead pump and laser screed. After a 7-day wet-cure we applied a liquid densifier and filled the control joints for a durable, long-lasting finish.
