Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by Calgary Vegan Society’s Vegan Holiday Harvest Festival this weekend! Your kind words and support mean more than you know 🫶

Vegan markets are always my favourite to vend at and attend. It’s the best feeling knowing I can enjoy everything there, and I love supporting my fellow vegan business owners!

I’m so grateful for to be part of Calgary’s wonderful vegan community. You made the first market of the season such a special one 💕

Thank you soooo much to everyone who came out yesterday! We are so thrilled to see the vegan community in Calgary come together, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. From our amazing vendors and musicians to our fantastic speakers who shared their messages, and without a doubt our incredible volunteers who made putting on the event possible, we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone’s support!

Natalie will be educating and presenting her topic on Circular Economy and The Importance of Repair. She will be also explaining the free service that is offered at Repair Exchange events hosted by The Arusha Centre.

Natalie is passionate about social justice, community building, and sustainability. She enjoys being able to help others in ways that she can. She graduated with a Social Work Bachelor's Degree from the University of Calgary in 2024. She's been working with the Arusha Centre for the past six years. She’s worked with a variety of populations and places emphasis on strength based approaches. In her free time she enjoys looking for the best new movies to watch and hanging out with her partner and cat.

Serenity will be educating and speaking on her topic: Bridging Veganism and Social Justice

Serenity is a Vancouver-based anti-speciesism advocate and total liberationist whose activism began in vegan street outreach and extended into pressure campaigns.

After years of organizing vegan street outreach events for global organizations, using her networking skills to facilitate collaborations across animal rights organizations, and mentoring new activists and street outreach organizers, Serenity now aims to encourage the creation of spaces at the intersections of animal liberation and other social justice movements, building bridges across movements, across communities, and moving beyond single-issue vegan activism. She is also involved with OLIVE Collective, a Vancouver-based grassroots collective committed to the shared struggles for liberation for everyone.

Tawnya will be educating and presenting her topic on "Building Vegan Community in Calgary". She is well known in the vegan community for hosting vegan events.

Tawnya Foster is the Founder and Lead Organizer of the YYC Vegan Social Group, a community she started in August 2022 to bring together Calgarians who are vegan as well as those on a pathway towards veganism. What began as a small gathering at Vegan Street (Beltline) has grown to a large community with over 350 members. Known for hosting several events each month, YYC Vegan Social Groups is focused on connection, inclusivity, and fun.
Tawnya’s goal is to make veganism feel approachable by building a social community through shared experiences. She’s passionate about creating welcoming spaces where people can meet new friends, discover local vegan spots, and feel part of something bigger.
