🏓😅 Is your doubles partner starting to get on your nerves?

They attack the ball that absolutely should NOT be attacked. They watch the perfect attackable ball go by. You both go for the middle and smash paddles… then on the next one, you both leave it. 😂

Sound familiar?

Coach Neeraja knows that good doubles isn’t just about having the right shots. You and your partner need to know how to play together.

That means better communication, smarter shot selection, knowing who takes the middle, recognizing when to attack, staying patient, positioning properly, and learning how to construct a point as a team.

That’s exactly the kind of stuff we work on in Skills & Drills at IPOP Burnaby — along with plenty of other areas of your game.

🏓✨ IPOP Burnaby Got a Refresh!

If things are looking a little different around the courts lately, you’re not imagining it.

We’ve been busy upgrading IPOP Burnaby, replacing the old fencing and netting with a brand-new setup designed to make your time on the courts even better.

🔨 New and improved fencing
🏓 Better netting between the courts
🚪 More gates for easier court access
🥅 Additional netting to help keep those runaway balls where they belong

Huge thanks to the crew who put in the work to tear out the outdated materials and get everything installed and ready to play!

The courts are refreshed, the upgrades are complete, and IPOP Burnaby looks pretty sharp.

Come down and check out our “new” facility. 😉

Now if we could just figure out how to stop your opponent from hitting the ball over the fence in the first place…

Breakfast, new connections, and a side of humour from our CEO. A pretty good welcome to the SWRBOT community! 🏓

IPOP is proud to join the Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade.

Our CEO, Chris White, and Dushyant Kumar, IPOP Surrey Supervisor, represented IPOP at the New Member Breakfast & Induction, where Chris received our membership certificate and introduced IPOP—with a little personality along the way. We’ll let the video do the talking. 🎤

Thank you to the SWRBOT team for bringing everyone together, and to Morgan Creek Golf Course for hosting us.

It was a pleasure meeting Geeta Schallig, Employer Relations Strategist at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and learning more about KPU’s connections with local businesses.

And Patrick von Pander—wonderful to see you again! You bring so much life to events like this, and we’re looking forward to exploring ways to collaborate.

We enjoyed chatting with Ammar Nabod from Myriad Technologies about supporting businesses, and meeting Ron Cabanjin from Senior Helpers White Rock. Ron, your team's work for seniors and their families deserves a special shout-out.

It was also great connecting with Emmanuel Ariwodo from Mapletrite and learning more about his business. And David Shih from Aether Automation, thank you for the conversation and for sharing what you’re working on.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring opportunities to help one another grow.

At IPOP, we bring people together. Whether it’s corporate team building, community wellness, a social event or someone’s first time picking up a paddle, we’d love to welcome our fellow members onto the courts.

Next conversation over a game of pickleball? We know a place. 😉

🇨🇦🏓 They Made It to the World Cup!

Sometimes, the biggest victories happen before anyone steps onto the court.

Just weeks before the 2026 Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam, it looked like Canada’s Junior Team wouldn’t be able to go.

These young athletes had earned the opportunity to represent Canada on the world stage, but a lack of funding could have forced them to watch the World Cup from home.

Then the Canadian pickleball community stepped up.

TJ and the team at Apollo Pickleball made a transformational donation that helped close the funding gap and get Canada’s juniors to Vietnam.

As TJ put it:

“Those kids earned their spot, and the idea that they’d have to watch the World Cup from home over a funding gap just didn’t sit right with us.”

A huge thank you to TJ and Apollo Pickleball for believing in the next generation of Canadian pickleball, and to Maria Klokotzky, whose passion and advocacy helped bring everything together.

And thank you to everyone who donated, fundraised, shared the story, supported the athletes, or helped in any way.

Because of that support, these young players didn’t have to watch from home.

They got to put on the maple leaf, step onto the courts in Vietnam, and represent Canada at the Pickleball World Cup. 🇨🇦

That’s something worth celebrating.

Congratulations to Canada’s Junior Team, and thank you to everyone who helped get them there. 🍁🏓

Are you just serving to get the game going?

Top players don’t.

They see the serve as an opportunity to control the game.

Here's the deal: Your serve sets up the entire point, so use it to your advantage!

Coach Tommy breaks down:
• Wide serves
• Body serves
• Serves down the T
• Why pros target specific spots

Here are a few of the reasons you should learn to aim your serve:

- A wide serve pulls players off court.
- A body serve jams them.
- A serve down the middle limits angles.

Simple changes. Better third shots. More points for you.

The best players serve with purpose.

👉 Stop serving randomly.

Start creating pressure from the first shot.
