We sincerely apologize to participants who were unable to receive ice cream after finishing the race.

For Dhaka Summer Half Marathon 2026, Igloo Ice Cream generously sponsored approximately 2,000 ice creams for a field of nearly 1,500 registered runners — a provision well above the expected demand. Distribution logistics and crowd management at the finish line were handled by our event operations team.

Unfortunately, the intense heat drove unusually high demand, and we observed a significant number of non-participants joining the distribution line alongside runners and their families. Under these conditions, our on-ground crowd management fell short, and some runners missed their refreshments despite Igloo’s more-than-adequate supply.

We take full responsibility for the distribution gap. Igloo Ice Cream fulfilled their commitment as a sponsor completely. The shortfall was an operational failure on our part, and we will ensure structured distribution systems — including wristband or bib verification — are in place for all future events.

We thank Igloo Ice Cream for their continued partnership and generosity, and we thank our running community for their patience and understanding.

Introducing Shahidul Islam Suman, the dedicated pacer for the 7.5KM category with a target finish time of 65 Minutes at the Dhaka Summer Half Marathon 2026.

By profession, Suman serves the nation as a firefighter in the Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defence. Beyond his duty of protecting lives, he is also deeply committed to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Through his discipline, fitness, and consistency, he inspires his colleagues and friends to stay active and prevent obesity through regular exercise and running.
