autiful women from the South Asian Region who will lead the society, Bangladesh has organized a beauty pageant with the participation of five South Asian countries. Titled 'Queen of South Asia', this is the first time ever this country is organizing an international level beauty pageant. The participating countries will be Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. A press conference was held on Saturday evening at a luxurious hotel in the capital city where the official announcement was made by ATN Bangla chairman Dr Mahfuzur Rahman. He is the main sponsor of this competition. The other two joint organizers of this pageant are ATN Events and Fab Communication. Mahfuzur Rahman said at the press conference, "Still our media is facing actor crisis. We don't have enough good actors and actresses. So we hope to find some talented actors through this pageant. We will groom and train the beauties who will be selected from this five countries. These beauties will contribute to our media in future." RC Koirala from Nepal, Dipannita Das from India, Rex Fernando from Sri-Lanka, Israt Fatima from Pakistan, chief coordinator of the competition Sajedur Rahman Munim and actor Ferdous were present at the press conference. The registration has already begun. A video comprising of the detail of the registration was shown later at the press conference. The video report was shown by the coordinator of the organizing company Nandita Hridi. The contestants who will register for this pageant must have to be the citizen of the participating countries. They have to be between 26-28 years of age and height has to be at least 5 feet 2 inch. The contestants also have to have a SSC certificate or O level education qualification. Afrid Hasan, the head of media communication of the competition, said, "The primary selection round will began in December in all the participating countries. The finale will take place in Nepal. The top eight contestants from each country will take part in the finale. So, the top 40 will take part in the finale." The Queen of South Asia will be selected from these top 40 in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu on March 12, 2018.
