In a rapidly changing political and media landscape, independent investigative journalism startups are emerging as credible and impactful alternatives. Operating beyond corporate interests or political influence, these agile initiatives have the potential to strengthen accountability through fearless and in-depth public interest reporting.

This session will explore how independent investigative startups can navigate structural and financial challenges to produce high-impact journalism. The discussion will also examine the realities of working within smaller teams, the power of collaboration and the growing need to move beyond traditional advertising models toward alternative revenue streams.

The session offers an important opportunity to reflect on the future of independent, accountable and public interest journalism.
