Bangladesh Climate Justice Assembly 2025 Calls for Just and Equitable Transition
The Climate Justice Assembly 2025 just wrapped up after two days on December 14, 2025. People from Bangladesh and other countries got together and made announcement of a powerful declaration. Being present at the assembly, held at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, local and global environmental experts, climate activists, and folks from different communities talked about what needs to happen right away and decided what they're going to do together. They said that all should work together to stop climate disasters in Bangladesh.
World leaders need to make sure that people already hurt by climate change get fair treatment. The group wants coal and fossil fuel power plants shut down as soon as possible and urges the government to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. The Assembly makes it clear that climate justice and energy justice go together. Bangladesh needs to focus on being strong, protecting the environment, and making sure that the people who are most affected are taken care of.
