Festival of Small Halls Australia

Festival of Small Halls Australia The best folk and contemporary acoustic artists hit the road to tiny halls in communities. Want to host a show in your regional community? Send us an email!

The Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours produced by Woodfordia Inc in partnership with major festivals and local communities across regional Australia. It takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists performing at two large festivals, and sends them on the road to tiny halls all over Australia. It’s an opportunity for music-lovers from welcoming communities to invite artists from

Home and Abroad into their towns, and a way of exploring this vast country in the spirit of hospitality and great fun. The artist line-up for Small Halls will always be at least one Australian artist and one International touring artist, who play music of exceptional quality and heart. They’ve been chosen for the tour not only because of their beautiful songs or tunes, but because they connect with the people they play for, whether through storytelling, the ability to tell a good joke (or a truly terrible one), their wonderful warmth and their real interest in visiting places a little off the beaten track. Each night of the tour is hosted by the local community, so it’s also a chance for a town to show off their warmest welcome and most enthusiastic audiences. From the farmlands to the flood lands, the rainforests to the outback, Festival of Small Halls audiences can expect a beautiful night of original music, as well as a chance to catch up with their families and friends during a supper break over cake and tea. It’s an all-ages event and all are welcome. Click on the artist link to find out if we’re coming to a town near you – and if we’re not, please extend the invitation. We’d love to come visit.

𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟓𝟎. 🪗🎻✨Half a century of dusty roads, creaky floorboards, community BBQs, and goosebump moments. The Festival of Small Halls is back for its 50th edition, and we are SO here for it.

We believe music belongs everywhere. Not just the big cities, the big stages, the big crowds. It belongs in Augathella. In Emu Creek. In Cameby. In the halls that have hosted generations of weddings, dances, funerals and footy nights, and still pulse with life.

This Autumn, we're taking Canadian banjo troubadour and Queensland's beloved Duo through 11 regional towns across New South Wales and Queensland, and we want you there with us.

These aren't just concerts. They're community nights. They're the reason small halls matter.

Who’s a fan of trivia? Because on this tour, we are!

Every break we’ve had, we tried to get to a local pub to do some trivia. A few nights we did our own DIY trivia and music trivia.

We’ve spent countless hours in the car together this past month, and thought it would be good to see how well we knew each other! Who do you think won 🤩

We're thrilled to announce the Festival of Small Halls NSW & Queensland Autumn Tour 2026 — and what a lineup it is.

Canadian banjo troubadour Old Man Luedecke and Queensland's own beloved The Barleyshakes Duo are hitting the road together from 20 May to 7 June, bringing live music to 11 regional communities across NSW and Queensland — from Wardell on the NSW coast all the way out to Augathella in remote Queensland, finishing up in Tenterfield.

This is the 𝟱𝟬𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙩-𝙛𝙤𝙧-𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨, and we couldn't be more proud. Expect community meals, warm halls, and the kind of magic that only happens when great musicians meet great local crowds.

For those of you who have seen TULLARA, you may have heard her relationship to the Red Tail Black Cockatoo.
In Goulburn, Alfie shared an indigenous creation story of the Black Cockatoo creation story with us.

What’s your relationship to this bird?
