What a great 5 days of chess! The 2025 Byron Capital Darling Downs Open delivered another fantastic chapter in this great tournament's history, with 195 players across three divisions representing some of the best competitive chess in the region.

🏆 Premier Division — IM Mihajlo Radovanovic took top honours in a strong 32-player field representing five chess federations.

🏆 Major Division — Atash Iddon and Ruilin Qi shared the title among 69 players from four federations.

🏆 Minor Division — Louis Yang and Noah Zi finished equal first in a bumper 94-player field representing five federations.

🌟 Local Junior Prizes - Best Local Secondary Student — Kaiteng Huang and Best Local Primary Student — Shaun Tsao
