COME FLY A KITE WITH US! 🪁

The Brisbane Kite Festival is back in 2026, proudly hosted by the Rotary Club of Brisbane South East & Rotary Club of Carindale and supported by Brisbane City Council.

Join us for a fun-filled day under the sky with something for everyone:
🎏 Spectacular sky full of kites
🪁 Kite sales & assembly help
🎡 Family rides & slides
🎩 Free children’s entertainment including bubbles, games & more
🎨 KidZone with fun and interactive activities
🚚 Food trucks, sausage sizzle, ice cream, coffee & cold drinks
🌿 Community stalls

💧 Free filtered water will be available on site — don’t forget to bring your reusable bottle.

☀️ What to bring: hat, sunscreen, water bottle & picnic rug.

🐶 Dogs: Please consider your dog’s comfort before bringing them, as the festival will be crowded. If you do bring them, please bring poo bags and they must be on a leash at all times.

WHERE TO PARK?
We have lots of areas where you can park free of charge (refer to maps on previous posts).

1. Parking for 700+ cars on site - gold coin donation is appreciated as it helps Rotary community projects and youth development programs.

2. Parking for lots of cars on Greystone and surrounding Streets plus some parking on business premises as marked (PLEASE don't park in no parking businesses).

3. Great Sunday parking on Container Street area then walk the Bulimba Creek bikeway for 20 minutes or so.

4. Kate or Preston (softball Club) streets and a 10 minute walk through Minnippi parklands.

5. Reserved disability parking on site with permit.

Police will be in attendance to help the crowds.

And the forecast is looking perfect for a sky full of kites. 🪁✨

Here’s what you can look forward to on the day:
🎏 Professional kite flyers with giant kites
🚗 Parking (gold coin donation appreciated)
💧 FREE filtered water
🪁 Kite sales, assembly & repair station
🎢 Slides & rides for all ages
🍔 Delicious food trucks + coffee & drinks
🍦 Ice cream treats
👧 Kidzone: Pop-up library, face painting, sensory play, clay play, Johnny the Jester, FREE bubbles
🌿 Local groups including Bulimba Guides, Belmont Scouts & Navy Cadets

☀️ What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, water bottle & picnic rug.

🐶 Bringing a dog? Please consider their comfort as the festival will be busy. If you do bring them, make sure to bring poo bags and follow Council’s rules for dogs in parks.

Haven’t got a kite yet? Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! 🎉
You’ll find a huge range of fun, colourful, and age-appropriate kites for the whole family — from toddlers to teens to big kids at heart. They’re fantastic quality and built to last, with every purchase supporting Rotary community projects. ❤️

🙌 Need a hand? The amazing Naval Cadets will be on-site to help you assemble your kite in no time.
💔 Kite mishap? No stress — the talented crew from Carina Men’s Shed will be set up behind the pavilion to help with repairs and run Lost & Found. They’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and learn more about the great work they do.
