It's amazing how much we are drawn to, and fascinated by, the animal world. allowed the audience to get close to a wide variety of reptiles, bird and mammals. This certainly was one of the major attractions and drawcard of the Brisbane West Eco Fest 2026 a couple of weeks ago. Some of the attendees even opted to take an animal (of the art and craft type) home. A fun day for all, with much appreciation for the amazing wildlife we share this planet with.

We really enjoyed the wide variety of eco-focussed stalls at this year's Brisbane West Eco Fest 2026. From recycling to repair, from regeneration to replanting, from large scale projects to defined local issues, there was such great depth and opportunities to get involved. Here are just some examples of the exhibitors: from The Shady Lanes Project devoted to verge gardens; to National Parks; from to Traditional Custodians; from local schools to parents and citizens; thank you for sharing your wisdom and insights with us.

Thank you to the amazing The Gap State High School and high school students who volunteered to spend their Sunday at the recent West Eco Fest 2026. The students guided the attendees across the festival site, answered questions, pointed out the speeches, location of stalls of interest, and the art competition. We received feedback that their contribution to the running of the EcoFest was very much noticed and valued. It's fabulous to see the next generation step up and contribute so much to the local environment and their community.
