Reported non-free events may be removed permanently & organisers blocked @ admin’s discretion. This group is a friendly, inclusive hub for discovering free events in Sydney and its suburbs. It exists to help people explore more, spend less, and build community through genuinely free things to do across the city. WHAT THIS GROUP IS FOR:
This community lists free events only – from the CBD to the In
ner West, Eastern Suburbs, North Shore and Western Sydney. Events can include markets, festivals, workshops, classes, meetups, arts and culture, live music, outdoor activities and more, as long as they are completely free to attend. All posts must clearly promote a specific free event in Sydney or its suburbs, not general promotions, ads or vague “come check out our page” posts. INCLUSION AND RESPECT:
Everyone is welcome here: people of all religions, spiritual paths, and no religion at all; all sexual orientations, gender identities, cultures, ages and backgrounds. This group is LGBTQ+ friendly and expects members to treat one another with courtesy and respect. Discrimination, harassment or exclusion based on religion, belief, lack of belief, politics, gender, sexuality, race or any other personal attribute is not tolerated. RELIGION AND BELIEF BOUNDARIES:
Members of any religion or none are welcome, but this is not a space for religious preaching, proselytising, recruiting or anti-religious campaigning. Do not promote your religion or atheism here. Religious or anti-religious arguments must not be used to attack, undermine or discourage any member or any event; such posts or comments may be removed and accounts may be blocked. POLITICS BOUNDARIES:
This is not a political debate or campaigning space. No party-political promotion, electioneering, fundraising, “vote for/against X” messaging, or general political rants are allowed. Information-only posts about specific free public events that have a political element (for example, a public forum, community consultation or town hall meeting) may be allowed at admin discretion, but comments must stay respectful and non-partisan. FREE-ONLY RULE AND REPORTING:
All events posted must be genuinely free to attend, with no entry fee, ticket cost, compulsory minimum spend or hidden paywall. If you attend an event from this group and discover it is not free, or you see a post that appears to breach this rule, please report it to Admin and include any details or screenshots you can. Admin will attempt to investigate reported non-free events and, where appropriate, may remove the post and respectfully block the organiser, host account, brand or page from the group. ADMIN DECISIONS
To keep the space safe, clear and enjoyable, Admin may remove posts or comments and block members, organisers or brands that breach these guidelines. Admin decisions are final and no debate will be entered into about whether an event, organiser, brand or member should remain in the group. By joining and posting, you agree to follow these guidelines so the group can remain a positive, useful resource for free events in Sydney. ALL EVENTS LISTED HERE HAVE TO BE FREE COST TO ALL. If any of these events require a "registration process", then the "registration process" should also be free. Free things to do in Sydney! Exciting, beautiful and free! Some of Sydney's most popular events and attractions are free including Sydney Festival, Newtown Festival, Freestyle Step XTRVGNZ events, etc.....
Enjoy community/street events put in by the locals. Pack a picnic lunch and attend one of the events at Sydney or Newtown Festival. etc...
Sydney is a natural wonderland where lots of outdoor events, and some indoor ones, cost nothing. Youngsters can kick a ball in a football event in the local park, climb trees as part of a Suburb Festival competition, etc...
