A stunning autumn day for the Shire Run & Aquathon! 🏃🏊

It was a day full of energy, smiles, sunshine and plenty of PB's and great vibes all along the course for our Shire Run & Aquathon on Saturday.

Thank you to all participants, volunteers and partners for being part of this great community event, that we look to continue to build into the future.

It was great to have the NSW Dual Relays as part of the event as well, with plenty of club spirit on show from runners across the state! 💪

Excitement is building for the Shire Run & Aquathon this Saturday at Kurnell! 🤩

We look forward to welcoming you all on what is set to be a brilliant day of community swim & run! 🏊🏼‍♀️🏃‍♀️

A couple of quick reminders for event day
👉 Make sure you familiarise yourself with the event schedule, course maps and other key info for your event on our website- 🔗 shireruncarnival.com.au
👉 Bib/timing chip collection for all events will be available from 5:45am at Bonna Point Reserve
👉 Event entry transfers available tomorrow (Thursday) night

If you haven't registered, do so by tonight to avoid the price rise, but entries will be available up until event morning 😊

We're very pleased that the NSW Dual Relay Championships will be taking place as part of the Shire Run & Aquathon, directly following the fun runs & aquathon 👌

🗣 Aquathon Course Update

For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, we have decided to move the Aquathon swim course to the Silver Beach Baths (1km from the finish line). This is a fully enclosed protected swimming spot, with plenty of space and perfect for first timers through to those who want to be competitive.🏊🏼‍♀️

🏃 The Aquathon run leg will now be 4km, as we are not permitted to extend the course into National Park land (this comes with extra permits and a significant cost increase).

These changes have now been updated on our website.

Most Miles Together Challenge Winners Announced!🏆🏃

A HUGE thank you and congratulations to all those who registered a team as part of the "Most Miles Together" Challenge as part of the Shire Run & Aquathlon. We have crunched the numbers and are pleased to announce our teams who travelled the furthest accumulative distance on the day!

🥇 1st Place- Strava Sharks (also the winners of a Kurnell Rec Club $150 food and $150 drink voucher!)
🥈=2nd Place- Bones Track Club

A magical day at Kurnell! ✨

645 people from all walks of life participated in yesterday's Shire Run & Aquathon. The event saw elite runners, first timers, weekend warriors, kids and families move together in a range of events.

Thank you to all of you for being part of an awesome day, we look forward to seeing you back at our next Shire Run & Aquathon on Sat 9th May 2026.
