Ime Merlot prvi se p**a spominje u 18. stoljeću u francuskom Libournaisu i već tada se smatralo jednom od najvažnijih sorata Bordeauxa. 🍇🍷

▪️No, njegovi korijeni sežu u 14. stoljeće, kada je ova sorta bila poznata pod nazivom „Crabatut Noir“.

▪️Ime je dobio po francuskoj riječi „merle“ (kos), pretpostavlja se zbog plavičaste boje perja ptice ili njezine sklonosti da jede cijenjeno grožđe.

▪️Merlot je jedan od najpopularnijih crnih vina na svijetu, a odlikuje ga baršunasta tekstura i pitki stil. Jeste li već kušali Merlot iz Krauthaker vinarije?
The name Merlot was first mentioned in the 18th century in the French Libournais and was already considered one of the most important varieties of Bordeaux. 🍇🍷

▪️However, its roots go back to the 14th century, when this variety was known as “Crabatut Noir”.

▪️It was named after the French word “merle” (blackbird), presumably because of the bluish color of the bird’s feathers or its tendency to eat the prized grapes.
