BILLFISH BONANZA – NEW DATES!

16–18 APRIL 2027

The Mooloolaba Game Fishing Club Committee has made the decision to postpone this year's Billfish Bonanza to 16–18 April 2027.

With a particularly busy tournament calendar and several events running on consecutive weekends, we feel this change will give anglers and fellow clubs a little more breathing room to enjoy the season.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and continued support, and look forward to welcoming you all to Mooloolaba for a fantastic weekend of fishing and good company!

Save the dates and spread the word!

Huge thank you to our amazing Sponsors who support us, our kids and our fishing community. Kawana Flooring, PNG Surfaris, Tackle World Kawana Waters and of course the GFAA KidsFish2 Program.

16/10/2026

All the kids who came along to the Mooloolaba Game Fishing Club Kids River Fishing Comp are winners in our eyes, but thanks to our amazing sponsors, we had some pretty cool prizes to give away! Our category winners each took home a $50 voucher from Tackle World Kawana Waters who also donated some amazing tackle and accessories so we could have a mega lucky door prize raffle.

Huge thanks also goes to Kawana Flooring , PNG Surfaris and GFAA National Junior Tournament - we couldn't have done it without you!

Last weekend was so special for us as a fishing club. We hosted our biggest ever Kids River Fishing Comp with more than 100 kids coming along to join in. Each and every participant walked away with a Shimano Rod and Reel and a GFAA KidsFish2 Goodie Bag filled to the brim with information and accessories to help keen little fisho's get underway!

Hundreds of fish were caught with regular flathead, whiting and bream being seen, but we also saw some crabs, a stingray and a giant blubber lip bream! It was a privelage to watch all the kids fishing along the rock wall, or getting in their boats and shooting up the river. How amazing to see so many young people out in the fresh air and enjoying this beautiful part of the world!

A huge thank you goes out again to our sponsors, Kawana Flooring, PNG Surfaris and Tackle World Kawana Waters - thank you for your generous support of this wonderful little community!

Make sure you are following our page as we share some photos, videos and highlights from this amazing event!

Our Kids River Fishing Comp is on tomorrow! We can not wait to meet the 100 junior anglers who will hit the Mooloolah River for a fun day of fishing!

This day would not be possible without our amazing sponsors Kawana Flooring, PNG Surfaris and Tackle World Kawana Waters.

A huge shoutout also goes to the GFAA and the KidsFish2 Program for providing some great goody bags and a Shimano Rod and Reel for every angler.

📢 BABES ANNOUNCEMENT 📢
It is with absolute heartbreak to announce that Billfish Babes 2026 has been cancelled due to persistent bad weather. The committee has worked so hard to organise one of the biggest, best Babes comps this year and we are so sad we are not able to deliver it for you. We will be back again next year so keep your calendars clear!

We would like to thank our amazing sponsors who have shown us such amazing support through all the ups and downs. We are also very humbled by the interest and messages from keen anglers and skippers from across the country wanting to know the latest updates so they can move their entire lives around to make it work.

We are currently organising a Club BBQ under the tree near our clubhouse to still provide any local anglers with a chance to get together, meet new people and talk all things fishing! Please keep your eye out for the details 🩷
