As of July 1, The Sunshine Coast Waterways Authority (SCWA) will take responsibility for waterways from Pumicestone Passage in the south to the Noosa lakes in the north, including the Noosa, Maroochy and Mooloolah rivers.

The authority will hold powers over navigation, management of sand movement, installation and maintenance of infrastructure, and developing waterways management strategies.

📢 BABES ANNOUNCEMENT 📢
It is with absolute heartbreak to announce that Billfish Babes 2026 has been cancelled due to persistent bad weather. The committee has worked so hard to organise one of the biggest, best Babes comps this year and we are so sad we are not able to deliver it for you. We will be back again next year so keep your calendars clear!

We would like to thank our amazing sponsors who have shown us such amazing support through all the ups and downs. We are also very humbled by the interest and messages from keen anglers and skippers from across the country wanting to know the latest updates so they can move their entire lives around to make it work.

We are currently organising a Club BBQ under the tree near our clubhouse to still provide any local anglers with a chance to get together, meet new people and talk all things fishing! Please keep your eye out for the details 🩷

🚨 POSTPONED AGAIN 🚨 The weather is not playing fair with us for Billfish Babes and this weekend has also been blown away 😑 But never fear! Our amazing venue, Pier 33 can fit us in next weekend, so third times a charm!

Billfish Babes will now be held with the briefing on Friday, March 6 and fishing & presentation dinner on March 7. New brochure and updates will follow as we continue to lock in details.

We do please ask that if you are planning on fishing, to send in your entry form. Payment can be made later, closer to the date. But getting your entry forms in will help us know what to expect with these new dates.

🎣⭐️ Four first-fish in the last 2 weeks! ⭐️🎣

How good is that? With plenty of fish about, MGFC Boats have been taking first-time fishos out to show them what this game fishing thing is all about. Catching a marlin on your first time out is an experience you'll never forget! Well done to all!

DID YOU KNOW? MGFC Boats can invite a 'guest angler' out fishing for the day. Any points scored by that angler will still be awarded to the Boat at a club level (not QGFA). And if that angler decides to join the club afterwards, those points will be assigned to them at a club level too! The only catch is, the guest angler must not have been a member of MGFC previously, and it's only for one day.
