oth hearts and minds? Lace up your sneakers and mark your calendar for Sunday, November 2, 2025, because Mind the Walk is striding back into Rockingham, and it’s bigger, brighter, and bolder than ever! Mind the Walk is not your average fundraising event. It’s a dazzling collaboration between the Rotary Clubs of Rockingham, Palm Beach, and Baldivis, bringing together our vibrant community for a cause that truly matters—mental health. Every cent raised powers South Coast Health and Community Services, providing emergency relief for those facing financial hardship, domestic violence, homelessness, and more. By joining in, you’re not walking alone—you’re walking in solidarity with your community. Why Walk When You Can Wander, Wonder, and Win? This isn’t a simple walk; it’s a fully guided, interactive, historical 5km journey along the beautiful Rockingham Beach. As you amble through Rotary Park Reserve and the surrounding coastline, you’ll be led on a scavenger hunt, peppered with fun and quirky historical facts that bring our local story to life. With every registration, you’ll receive a treasure-filled information booklet—your passport to discovering hidden gems along the route. Community Carnival: More Than a Walk! The adventure continues within Rotary Park, transformed into a bustling hub of excitement! Dive into:

Community group displays bursting with creativity and inspiration
Informative talks and mental health resources to guide and empower

Games galore and playful activities for kids—and the young at heart

Cuddle time with friendly animals (who can resist a furry friend?)

An obstacle course to conquer and raise even more for a great cause

But wait, there’s more—get your body moving and your spirits soaring with a smorgasbord of energising activities:
Bootcamp with Samantha Parmenter: Jump, squat, and giggle your way to fitness

Simply Swing Dancers: Learn some new moves and join in the groove! Why It Matters
Every activity, every laugh, and every conversation on this day is dedicated to raising awareness that mental health matters. Our aim is to shine a light on support services, smash the stigma, and celebrate the power of community and nature in emotional wellbeing. If we help just one person take a step towards hope, our mission is a success. Mind the Walk is more than just a walk—it’s an uplifting festival of fun, fitness, and friendship for all ages. Whether you’re navigating the scavenger hunt, cuddling a cute critter, or learning to Lindy Hop, there’s something magical waiting for everyone. Some of our committee last night, led by discussing plans for the 2026
Save the date - 1st November

This event is run by volunteers who give up their time during the year to prepare for in order for you to enjoy, have fun, learn and help raise money for Mental Health Support in Rockingham.

Last night we made a decision on which community group is going to be the 2026 recipient and its .................... ( Sorry, we have to tell them first) so stay tuned for that one.

These volunteers for the most part have been involved for the last number of years!

CWA Rockingham is a not-for-profit charity that provides a community service by connecting those no longer able to ride for themselves with their community and the outdoors by giving them free rides on trishaw ebikes, piloted by volunteer cyclists.

Their mission is to build bridges between generations and help prevent loneliness: we provide elderly people with an opportunity to avoid social isolation and remain active in their community by taking them out on bike rides and allow them to feel the wind in their hair!

We LOVE what they do!

They start near the front of on the foreshore.

Some tips to a happier life...

Based on research and expert advice, small, consistent daily actions can significantly increase happiness. Here are seven effective things you can do to make your life happier:

Practice Gratitude Daily
Actively acknowledging what you are thankful for can rewire your brain for positivity. Consider keeping a gratitude journal to write down things you appreciate, which boosts your mood and changes your heart's focus.

Get Active and Move Your Body
Exercise releases endorphins that fight depression, reduce stress, and improve your mood. Regular physical activity, such as walking, running, or dancing, not only increases happiness but also promotes better health and longevity.

Prioritize Quality Sleep
Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is crucial for emotional well-being and energy levels. A consistent, relaxing bedtime routine helps regulate your mood and reduces stress.

Cultivate Real Social Connections
Nurturing relationships with family and friends is essential for lasting happiness. Make time to connect with people who support you, as shared experiences and social time significantly reduce stress.

Spend Time Outdoors and in Nature
Even 20 minutes a day outside in the sunshine can improve your mood and lower your heart rate. Taking a walk in nature can act as a natural stress reliever.

Help Others and Practice Kindness
Engaging in acts of kindness and helping others can increase your own sense of purpose and happiness.

Live in the Moment (Mindfulness)
Practicing mindfulness—such as meditation—helps reduce anxiety and brings more peace to your life. Slow down and fully experience pleasant moments rather than rushing through them.
