💫Oh, what a day it was! Thanks to everyone who came along and enjoyed the whimsical vibes of the Guildford Medieval Fayre - 2026
Thanks to the incredible blend of Medieval combat teams, musicians, reenactment groups, enthusiasts, artisans, and market stallholders who came together to entertain and share their skills, knowledge, and creativity.
Let's give a huge round of applause to our site manager, Aj, Peter Dolan, and the amazing team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly under challenging circumstances. ❤
It was wonderful to see the community unite. Thank you to members of the Ellenbrook Community Collective The Stirling Arms, Henley Brook Hire and The Guildford Hotel for your support, and to the Bassendean Men's Shed for managing on-site parking, and Swan Rotary for collecting donations.
Unfortunately, the fayre coincided with unexpected restrictions and maintenance work on Barkers Bridge in Guildford, requiring adjustments to traffic control during the event. Due to the bridge maintenance, the City of Swan took full responsibility for managing traffic and organising shuttle services to and from the event.
Managing the event was difficult because of limited bridge access and the restriction to only northbound traffic. Attendance doubled from 2025, which caused more congestion and made parking harder to find.
We apologise to everyone who travelled to Guildford only to find they couldn’t access the venue. We understand this was frustrating and disappointing. We hope it won't deter you from supporting future fayres.
Although we planned for a larger attendance than in 2025 and arranged additional bins, toilets, and food vendors, attendance was still higher than expected. Many areas of the event space became congested due to the limited space allocated for the event. If only we had a crystal ball! Lessons learnt!
We are proud to have created an event that offers a space to enhance community connections and promotes inclusion and a sense of belonging. Planning for the 2027 Medieval Renaissance Fayre has already commenced.
Our aim is to keep the fayre accessible via public transport and entry by donation, but we need your help to achieve this.
Please share your constructive feedback and ideas for future events. by emailing [email protected].
If you'd like to share photos from your day at the fayre, post them in comments.
