What’s everyone currently reading, or what have you just finished and would love to recommend? 📚

It was the middle of August the last time we asked. Where has the time gone?!

Emma and Clare both read Verity by Colleen Hoover last week, ready for the new movie!

Emma is currently reading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty for our October Greenwood event, while Clare has just finished At the Foot of the Cherry Tree by Alli Parker, our October book choice for Currambine and Joondalup.

Now it’s your turn. what are you reading?

Back in 2017, when Clare and Emma first met at a book club, they didn’t immediately begin meeting socially outside of it.

They saw each other once a month at the book club and joined in with group outings when they could. It filled their cups with conversation, stories and a shared love of books.

Sometimes, seeing a familiar face once a month and knowing you have somewhere you belong is enough.

The Book Club offers a place to come along, enjoy yourself and connect with others over the book of the month and see how stories can spark connection around the tables and across the room.

Just a few days ago, we shared that Sarah was jetting off to Paris, where she’ll also visit a location inspired by the same book. 🇫🇷

How exciting that a Book Club choice has inspired two real-life side adventures! 📚✈️

Enjoy every second of your trip to Paris, Sarah. We wish we could have fitted inside your suitcase! 🇫🇷✈️

Sarah has been joining us at The Book Club for several months and usually comes along to our Thursday evening Book Club. However, a double booking meant she joined us on Friday instead, where she shared the exciting news that she was jetting off to Paris today!

Inspired by This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page (our April book choice), Sarah has added the beautiful Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Richelieu, to her itinerary. 📚

We’re looking forward to sharing a photo from Sarah’s Parisian adventure…because who doesn’t love a gorgeous library picture? 💕

Michelle is taking part in The Bloody Long Walk and downloaded Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, intending only to check that the audiobook was working.

Unfortunately, it hooked her, and she accidentally finished the whole book before the walk!

Our Friday Book Club guests shared a few fantastic recommendations, but now we’re asking everyone else:

What audiobook should Michelle listen to during The Bloody Long Walk? She needs something completely absorbing to help those kilometres fly by!

What a lovely lunchtime! The room was alive with chatter about sliding doors, regrets, the lives we could have lived and so much more.

As usual, Clare and Emma were able to join in with some of the discussions, and it was wonderful to hear everyone’s stories and thoughts on this month’s book.

Well done to our prize winner! A very well-deserved win with the top score across both events. 🏆

With a door prize, extra-special giveaways and so much generosity between guests, we had an absolute ball.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the next Book Club. If you were unable to join us, please know that you were missed. 💕
