Behind-the-scenes shots of someone very special spending time with a few Buffet Crampon Légende clarinets this week… and one of them has already found its forever home. Can you guess who?

Huge thanks to Carlos Ferreira, Principal Clarinet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, who took the time to hand-select these instruments in Paris before they made the long journey to Sax & Woodwind and Brass.

The creation of the Légende and Tradition clarinets in 2017 gave rise to a new family of bores. Thanks to their qualities, combining tradition and innovation, these bores are appealing to more and more musicians throughout the world. In 2020, Buffet Crampon decided to pursue the development of this family of bores by presenting a new instrument surpassing expectations both by the quality of its French manufacture and its particularly affordable price: the GALA clarinet.

Its design takes full advantage of the latest research and is characterized by rich harmonics and an overall balance of the instrument’s range. This new professional clarinet is equipped with wooden chimneys (dalbergia melanoxylon) and leather pads. Finishing touches of black nickel-plated rings, medallion and ligature adorn the instrument with elegance.

Very busy week visiting ABI Music Ltd in Christchurch for the New Zealand Festival of Brass where they had a fantastic display of Besson Brass and Antoine Courtois. Congratulations to all the Besson artists featured over the weekend.

Then hightailing it on the red eye to Brisbane to set up for the Queensland Music Educators Conference with Grevillea Distribution, where we are displaying the full suite of Prodige student and intermediate brass and woodwind for Queensland's music teachers.

I was able to sneak a prototype of the brand new Buffet Crampon B12 student clarinet in for demonstrations where it's instantly turning heads. Watch this space for more information coming very soon or check out our website.
