IMPORTANT WORKSHOP INFO FOR SKATERS!!

BEGINNERS
We will be following the same structure for beginners as last year with the addition of an Introduction to Ramps session at 2pm for first timers or those who are very new to ramps to find their feet.

With the addition of the mini ramp to the event we are no longer teaching how to pump and turn back and forth in the bowl. Instead we will be utilising the beginner bowl riding session to teach skater's new to bowl skating how to ride and carve the bowl as a whole. For safety and time management you will need to be able to get yourself out of the bowl with minimal assistance for all bowl workshops.

INTERMEDIATE
The intermediate session will run as a guided jam. Your coach will be able to offer assistance, instruction and challenges based on numbers and skill level within the group. Each person's runs should be kept under a minute at a time to ensure everyone gets a fair go.
Intermediate sessions over the last couple of years have been quite large. With this in mind please give consideration to others when choosing your level. You don't need to be able to drop in to participate in this session but you should be able to get in and out of the bowl quickly and unassisted. If you are comfortable dropping in to the deep end or performing coping tricks in the deep you should attend the advanced jam as an alternative to this one.

ADVANCED (new format)
Structured comp style jam without the judging. Please pre-register with Danger before the start of the session so we can call your names for an ordered jam and commentate your mad tricks over the P.A.

You don't need to be a superstar to qualify for this session, we have the advanced demo for those maniacs. This session is for experienced skaters who can put together confident lines in the bowl without assistance and would like to bounce off other advanced skaters to mix it up and learn some new tricks and lines.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

You must sign up and get a wrist band to skate anywhere at the event.

Helmets are essential at all times in the bowl and on the mini ramp for the duration of the event. It is also in your best interest to wear protective pads. This is an event insurance requirement. Please wear your helmet. No exceptions.

Safety gear is optional in the flat dance area - wear whatever you are comfortable with. Some experienced skaters will dance without safety gear but it doesn’t mean you should too. Please be smart and look after yourselves and your mates.

Reapply sunscreen and hydrate. It is going to be HOT!

03/01/2018

Weather update. The good news is there is no rain forecast! Yay! It will however be HOT! Saturday forecast is 36 degrees and Sunday 43 degrees for those who are still in town.

Please bring a hat for when you're not wearing your helmet, plus sunscreen. We will have drinks for sale but bring a water bottle to keep hydrating while you are skating. We will have more umbrellas for shade this year but I know when I'm skating a always forget to take some time out in the shade. Please look out for one another and duck across to the beach if you need a swim ☀️ 🌊 💛
