Tweed Valley Banana Festival Mascot appreciation. The Tweed Valley Banana Festival's favorite friends Banana Jim and Sugar Cane Sue are asking the community for donations towards a new look!

we here at tweed valley banana festival are currently trying to raise funds to be able to successfully maintain banana Jim and Sugar sue (tweed valley banana festival mascots) into the future. these funds will be used to make costumes for the characters to wear, cleaning of the suits when required and possibly the creation of a new character (details yet to be announced. to raise the funds you wil

l notice cans situated around murwillumbah with save our mascot on the outside of them. this is where you can donate. Banana Jim and Sugar sue will also be travelling to the schools to promote awareness and possibly a colouring in competition/mufti day. we would like to thank you for your support and hope to be able to keep the mascots alive for years to come

Those of us who were raised in the tweed will have fond memories of the banana festival and its favorite pals Banana Jim and Sugar Cane Sue, who are celebrating being over 20 years old!
Its surprising how well they've aged but we think its time to surprise these local legends and give them a fresh makeover.
