“Sack Shack” stall. Sharon Hazel, owner was living her dream, and opened Book Shack in March 2009. We originally stocked a vast array of good quality secondhand books plus a unique range of Fairtrade/Recycled bags, gifts, book accessories.The Storefront traded in Sandgate and Deagon but unfortunately had to close in August 2019, alas a sign of the times. Sharon also travelled to many festivals with her Book Shack Fairtrade/Recycled stall - items crafted from recycled sacks, fabrics, billboard signs, chicken feed sacks. Some imported from Fairtrade Organisations, others handcrafted by Sharon or Local artisans. But now my stall is called "Sack Shack" which is more relevant to the products I onsell. “Bristlebrush” Christmas hanging decorations are adorable and crafted using fibres from the Buri Palm (Corypha Elata), which is native to Asia. These are Australian designed and developed and manufactured in the Philippines for access to Buri Palm. This design is “Andy”, waterproof, lined, long lasting, beautifully crafted in a variety of colours. Black, Orange, Grey, Vibrant Blue, Turquoise, Chocolate Brown, Copper & Lime Green. Can be worn crossbody or shoulder, can fit in my Dell Laptop, books, water bottle. $69.00 each. I have been importing these since 2011 from my friend Yek Hong and her talented Fairtrade team.
