The Big Band Sunset Festival is a free event held on each Saturday afternoon and evening in February in the Hazel Pierce Park adjacent to the beautiful Mordialloc Creek. Entertainment commences at 3.30pm and continues right through until the evening swing dance by MoJO which concludes at 9pm. Every Saturday has a different theme and guest artists abound throughout the festival. All guest acts in 2
013 will be big bands making this Australia's premiere Big Band Jazz festival! The sounds of swing will be echoing across the park and water from early in the afternoon right though to the end of the swing dance at 9pm. As always, the huge Big Band Sunsets dance floor will be there awaiting all eager dancers. You'll see and hear some of our finest young talent and local performers in the 'Schools' segment of the festival So bring your rug and picnic hamper and come on down to the river for a fabulous afternoon & evening of jazz and dancing. Choose your spot in the park and settle back for over 22 hours of high quality jazz music... jazz music with an emphasis on MoJO's favourite; big band swing! In the immortal words of Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn," it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing"....
