Australian Open Competitors,
As the dust settles at Mudgee Sporting Clays we’ve all had a couple of weeks to reflect on the Australian Open Sporting Clays Championship.
The response from everyone involved regarding the event has far exceeded anything we imagined we were creating.
We've sent emails to all main event competitors, food and trade vendors and sponsors to say thank you for your support of our:
▪︎ vision,
▪︎ passion
▪︎ and desire to improve Sporting Clays in Australia
If you didnt get an email, please let us know in the comments.
On behalf of Shotgun Sports Australia and Mudgee Sporting Clays we would also like acknowledge the very generous sponsors who got involved and had belief in the Australian Open format and a willingness to associate their company brand with Shotgun Sports Australia when it was effectively an unknown entity.
Every one of our sponsors came to us wanting to get involved, offering their assistance and enthusiasm about being a part of this event. The firearm industry is presently going through some tough economic times with recent firearm law changes in NSW and WA and a proposed national buy back scheme, that have created a lot of uncertainty, all of which is impacting on their businesses. We ask more so than ever before that shooters remember the significant contribution these companies continue make to our sport, and the Australian Open and ask that you support their companies by purchasing your or your clubs shooting supplies or next firearm from them:
NIOA Sporting & Outdoor (B&P, FIOCCHI & Express Ammunition)
Perazzi AU
Outdoor Trading Company Aus. (Promatic Traps and GB Ammunition)
Top Shot Industries Australia (RE Ranger Eyewear, LongRANGE Controlling Systems, Outlaw/Bowman/Atlas/Canterbury Traps, VIVAZ targets and more)
Beretta Australia (Beretta Shotguns, Trust Ammunition and much more)
Hull Cartridges Australia
C.R Kennedy (Pilla eyewear, Fabarm Shotguns and Teague Precision Chokes)
Bronze Wing & Laporte Australia (LaPorte Targets, Bronze Wing & NSI Ammunition)
For those that:
▪︎ Personally came and seen us at the event
▪︎ sent us an email
▪︎ sent us a text or Facebook Messenger messages
▪︎ or picked up the phone and spoke to us after the event
Thank you for your positive feedback. People’s reactions have been totally unexpected, and way beyond anything we thought we had created. For those that have provided suggestions for improvement and constructive feedback, thank you. We have listened and acknowledge the excellent ideas received. All of them will be considered.
Two weeks on, as things start to return to normal and we come down off the high, we now reflect on the success of the event. Interest from competitors, sponsors, trade companies, other clubs/shooting affiliations and 3rd party stakeholders have all expressed a keen interest to be involved in future events. We haven’t ruled this out, but a decision is yet to be made.
Thanks again for your support. We hope we created a positive Australian Open Sporting Clays Championship experience that will be talked about and remembered well into the future.
