Bad Ambulance returns to NM with ‘Possessor’. 2 tracks of hallucinated juke, vocal automations and warped polyrhythms - a tantalising follow up to last year’s breakthrough release ‘Intel 95’.

‘Possessor’ hisses and wriggles wildly into surprisingly hazy ecstasy, arpeggiating skyward, whilst retaining Melbourne/Naarm-based producer Jack Palmer’s trademark anxiety rhythms and minor key stress waves. Euphoric sheen pixelates into digitised, dripping horror movie foley in ‘Zero’, bringing to life a foreboding arrhythmic thump at mid tempo. Phrases of softly mathematical rhythms escalate Palmer’s neon tension strategies; alarms are raised, phased sawtooth signals flatline through the wooze. And what’s more, this overwhelming robotic ecology seems to stare blankly over our heads while it scares the s**t out of us - inexplicably austere as it teeters on the brink of collapse.

Tomorrow evening at , Carolyn Schofield aka presents a rare DJ set of her favourite quiet and ambient music inside The Oratory - one of the Convent's most resonant and ornate spaces.

Carolyn joins writers and Michael Dulaney as they share the outcomes generated through the Convent’s inaugural Writers Residency Program; supporting writers in their professional development through dedicated studio space, a generous honorarium and mentoring from ACF staff and tenants.

Readings from Luke and Michael will be encompassed and framed by Carolyn's selections at this landmark event, ahead of a huge Summer of programming at the Abbotsford Convent arts precinct. Carolyn Schofield is a Vietnamese-Australian synthesist, pianist and composer, whose intricate and improvisatory compositions derive from meditations on deep listening, growth and transcendence.
