2026 BATTLE SEASON FINAL — THE WINNERS EDITION 🏆🤘🏼

We’re still buzzing from Thursday night’s epic NvS City Final at the Corner Hotel.

What a night. What a room. What a way to finish the season.

And how fitting that we managed to get our award winners together in one photo. ❤️

Huge congratulations to Port Melbourne Primary’s THE PORTALS. The Red Army was out in full force, helping these legends take home not one, not two, but three awards:

The Richmond Primary community also showed just how powerful the support behind these bands can be, achieving an incredible 40% engagement relative to school size.

To celebrate and recognise that achievement, our wonderful Battle partners at Ferguson Plarre’s Bakehouse generously added another $500 voucher on the night, creating a second Turn It Up Award for Highest Engagement.

And that really sums up what this is all about.

Yes, there are trophies. Yes, there’s a winner. But the real reward is seeing whole school communities show up and demonstrate just how much music matters . Every rehearsal, every packed room, every ticket sold and every voice in the crowd creates stronger connections, more opportunities for participation, keeping music present in the everyday lives of families and children, and helping build something much bigger and more important than a night on the stage.

That is the Purpose Beyond Our Bands. ❤️

What a community. What a Final. What a fitting end to our biggest Battle Season yet. 🤘🏼⚔️

THREE DAYS TO GO… and this leaderboard is getting rather cosy. There’s not a lot of daylight between some of these school communities now.

But enough about percentages.

Six incredible parent bands. One Corner Hotel stage. A room full of people wildly invested in the outcome… and absolutely no sensible reason to stay home on a Thursday night. 🤘🏼

These parents have put in the hours. Rehearsals, late nights, set lists, group chats, outfit debates… and trust us, they’re ready to bring it!🤘🏼

If you’ve never been to a PBOB Final, this is the year.

With just 10 DAYS TO GO, our Final Ticket Sales Leaderboard is getting considerably more interesting.

Richmond is still holding the top spot at 31%, but that once-commanding lead is being chipped away.

Port Melbourne is lurking at 24%…
Ripponlea has made a move into third at 14%…
and the middle of the pack is getting VERY cosy. 😏

So, Finalists… consider this your 10-day warning. 🚨

Round up the school crew. Book the babysitter. Message the group chat. Call in favours. Locate those friends who said “Yep, definitely coming!” three months ago and still haven’t got their ticket. 😂

Because forget the leaderboard for a second… we want The Corner absolutely heaving on September 10.

Thanks to Oztix & QMusic with the support of Dror Erez, we have secured two complimentary BIGSOUND delegate passes, valued at $1,800.

Now we’re looking to raise around $2,500 to cover our flights and accommodation in Brisbane from 1–4 September.

Why BIGSOUND?

It’s an opportunity to get in the room with the people and organisations who could help shape what comes next for PBOB – partners, funding bodies, artists, promoters, venues and music industry leaders who share our belief in the power of live music, community and music education.

Less than four weeks to go until our 2026 NvS Battle Final hits The Corner Hotel… and things are already getting interesting.🔥

Right now, Richmond Primary has thrown down the gauntlet and currently owns HALF THE ROOM.

Who’s going to do something about it? 🤨

With 550 hours still on the clock, this leaderboard could look VERY different come next week and the week after, and the week after that!

The stage at Sooki may be small, but the energy was massive, the performances were epic, the support amongst bands enormous and a crowd that gave everything right back in a big way.

WHAT. A. DEBUT. 🤘✨

Selby Primary’s Life Education Band hit the Parents Battle of the Bands stage for the very first time last night… and landed a podium finish at the 2026 Yarra Ranges Battle. 🥈🔥

What a crew and what a way to introduce themselves.

The connection on stage was impossible to miss. So much energy, personality, attitude and pure joy in the way they played together. It was pure party vibes.
