As mentioned on Saturday (and every other run brief) we are in need of volunteers to make the magic happen.
As you can see our future roster is looking a little sad with high numbers of core vacancies.

Altona Beach parkrun
Event number 533
12th of September 2026

This week 153 people ran, jogged, and walked the course in absolutely perfect conditions. 20 were first timers, 20 PB’s were recorded, and the numbers were made up by participants from 7 different clubs.

The event was made possible by 17 amazing volunteers:

Our participation numbers are always very healthy, but we are always in need of volunteers, often with many call outs being put out each week. So please get in touch if you can help out either by commenting on this post, a DM or emailing [email protected]

We love meeting new people and our RD’s are an amazing bunch to get to volunteer with who will give training and help on the day if you’re unsure of a role.

This coming weekend we require the following to host an event:

🔍 Event day course check ✅ FILLED

All 4 core roles must be filled to hold a safe event. If they aren’t filled by 7pm Thursday, we will make the call to cancel, so people have time to make alternate plans.

All roles are super easy and training is provided.

Well done to our milestone achievers on the weekend, with two huge 300th parkruns being achieved.

Magic milestone 🌟

Whilst all milestones are special, we celebrated a special one at Altona Beach on Saturday for Carly, who ran her 300th parkrun.

As everyone probably knows, Carly has been the Event Director for many years at Altona Beach Parkrun, and you probably don’t know, she recently stepped into an Event Ambassador role.

She’s amassed a massive 324 volunteer credits along with her 300 parkruns, and has volunteered in total 449 times.

🌟 Well done on your milestone Carly 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣🌟

This week 109 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 11 were first timers and 12 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.
