**Sharing my journey with you.**
I started my company purely by accident. Having just arrived in Melbourne in November 2013 I was looking for work whilst staying at my friends place. My friend Blaine and his brother Chase were dabbling in website development and ran a small website and had a handful of clients, this would ultimately be the birth of Startabiz.
I applied for well over 100 jobs online and was surprised that I couldn't find one given I had come armed with a degree ready to go.
I decided that whilst my friends were putting me up for a while I wouldn't waste a single minute, I knew how to build a website and I knew how to talk to people so I put two and two together and set out on Gumtree looking through all the ads of people who needed a website. I cold called 50 people in one day alone and landed my first two jobs. They were tiny but they were paid, I kept this up for a few weeks and low and behold I was in business! I saw a real gap in the market when it came to having good honest, reliable web designer that could talk with people on their terms and cared about the business the project was for rather than the monetary gain. Honestly some of the stories I heard were shocking! I refused to be that person.
From there I continued to pound the pavement all over East Brunswick and Carlton North where I approached every local business with a coffee in hand and asked if they had a few minutes for a coffee and a chat. This worked absolute wonders for the growth of my company.
The story goes on and I have being busy ever since.
I just wanted to share part of my story with you as I left school when I was 15 and was always told that I would amount to nothing and absolutely refused to believe it. Now I run a growing fresh and vibrant company thats really making a dent in a market I am passionate about and I hope to continue to make this my lifes work and continue to help companies grow both nationally and globally.
Never give up, hustle hard, work as hard as you possibly can and put people first at all times.
I would love to hear similar stories of your journey.
