Hey all!
It’s Ella here, excited to be sitting just one day out from the inaugural Roar Music Festival in St Kilda.
In fact the festivities have already started, with the official launch last night at St Kilda Town Hall, apparently going off, I had a gig out of town alas.
It means so SO much to me to be the ambassador for a project I’ve witnessed from it’s inception as conversations in the back of the van, as backstage chatter (and honestly sometimes as heated frustrated rants..) and now - it’s a real thing.
It’s a positive action to address a situation that many of us in the music industry have pointed at saying ‘hmm.. that ain’t good’.. Now here we are!
Thanks to the Rackett Collective for bringing us together and giving us the platform and power to ROAR the house down this wk end and March Forward together this International Women’s Day, and to Kerrie O’Brien for this great chat in The Age.. (& for those in the comments hating on my crocs, I think you can see by the colour of my apartment how seriously I will take your fashion critique! Hahaha.. )

As part of ROAR FEST, a new festival celebrating women in music, Acland and Fitzroy Street Precincts have all FREE Street Shows this weekend - with AMAZING female artists spanning a large number of genres, cultures and even instruments - harp or ghuzeng anyone?!
