The Bastille Day French Festival is an annual free event that draws together Melburnians and the French community of Victoria to celebrate the French National Day, along with French culture, traditions, and the France of tomorrow. Join us at the 2022 Bastille Day French Festival, 16 & 17 July, as we bring the joie de vivre and best French food stalls to the heart of Melbourne.

is a high-energy trio reimagining 50 years of French pop, jazz, and funk. Through alternative covers and sophisticated guitar synthesis, they deliver a dynamic, “massive” three-piece sound. Bridging Australia and the Pacific, their performances celebrate joie de vivre, inviting audiences on a versatile, culturally rich musical journey.

Melbourne, get ready to celebrate the start of winter with the ultimate French musical celebration: Fête de la Musique!
Born in Paris in 1982, La Fête de la Musique (also known as World Music Day) completely transforms France every year on June 21st to mark the summer solstice. For one night, all hierarchies in music vanish. The streets, parks, rooftops, and cafés are handed over to the public. Anyone from amateur bedroom guitarists to professional symphony orchestras can set up on the sidewalk and play for free. It is a massive, joyous, nationwide street party celebrating community, expression, and the universal love of music.

We are so excited to support our Aussie version with this incredible event, organised by none other than our very own legendary stallholder, Romain from !

If you love live bands, sing French music, vibrant community vibes, and (knowing Romain) some seriously good energy, you cannot miss this. It’s the perfect way to warm up and get a taste of French culture ahead of our main festival next month!

Conducted by Carlos del Cueto, the orchestra will be playing pieces by 3 Francophone composers, featuring the principal flautist of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Prudence Davis as a guest soloist for the night.

We're incredibly proud to be supported by Air Liquide , a world leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare, supplying oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and other gases to diverse sectors.

Throwback to Wednesday's closing night for French Film festival, we thank the team for having us and making sure our bellies were full with and !

We got to see Rodrigue in Love (Avignon), playful, witty and irresistibly French, this delightful film follows Stephane, as he navigates passion, ambition and the intoxicating pull of first love. With its infectious energy and tender humour, Rodrigue in Love is the perfect finale to the festival, inviting audiences to leave smiling and uplifted.
