🚨SPONSOR ALERT 🚨

Massive thank you again to Joey Duggan from Brandsmith Signs & Graphics for jumping on board and supporting Matt’s Marathon Mission this year.

Joey has once again gone above and beyond doing all my signage and advertising and helping spread the message around early onset bowel cancer and the work we are doing for Bowel Cancer Australia

The support from local businesses and good people like Joey makes this whole journey possible and I’m incredibly grateful for everything he’s done to help out again this year

If you’re needing any signage, advertising, design work or branding done, give Joey a buzz or look up Brandsmith Design on socials. Highly recommend supporting the people who support our community 🙌

🚨Donation Update🚨

We’ve now gone past an incredible $60,000 raised and are getting closer to our goal of $100,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia

I’m so grateful to every single person who has donated, shared a post, supported the mission or come along for the journey again this year. The support has honestly been amazing and means more than I can put into words.

After being diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer at 36, raising awareness around early onset bowel cancer and helping others has become something incredibly important to me. Every donation helps continue that message and supports the work Bowel Cancer Australia do every single day.

It’s not too late to get involved. If you can, please click the link and donate to help us reach our target 🙌❤️

Massive shoutout to these two legends Ian and Luc for once again getting around Matt’s Marathon Mission and raising money for Bowel Cancer Australia. 💙

For the second time these blokes have thrown on a frock to help raise awareness and funds, but they’ve taken things to another level with the wigs as well. 😂

At this point I think we’re all starting to wonder if they enjoy dressing up a little bit too much for it to still be called a challenge… 🤣

In all seriousness though, what these two have done is unreal.. Getting behind something that means so much to me and so many others affected by bowel cancer.

Legends. Thanks for all the support boys, it never goes unnoticed. 🙌💙

🚨DONATION ALERT 🚨

They keep rolling in!!!!

Still blown away by the support of people and the donations that are coming in. Big thank you to Phillip Bennett from Cellarbrations at Scottsdale for getting behind my dream of creating a world where early on set bowel cancer doesn’t exist.

🚨DONATION ALERT 🚨

Huge thank you to Will Smith who has donated money again this year towards early onset bowel cancer awareness and support.

Will was one of the very first people to reach out, get behind the mission and want to help make a difference, which means a hell of a lot to me.

I put the call out for him to come for a run this year and he answered, joining us for 15km on day 9. Safe to say he probably got one of the toughest starts to a morning we had on the whole trip 😅 but he showed up, put in the work and backed the cause the whole way.

People like Will are a massive reason why this journey keeps growing and why we’re able to keep spreading awareness around early onset bowel cancer.

Thanks again mate, your support and generosity doesn’t go unnoticed ❤️

🚨 MAJOR SPONSOR ALERT 🚨

Cellarbrations Tasmania are donating $200 for every Cellarbrations store that I go past on my journey to Cockle Creek! This will bring a grand donation total of $4000 to my mission to raise awareness around Bowel Cancer.

This is another amazing example of local people wanting to make a difference. All Cellarbrations stores in Tasmania are independently owned with their focus on supporting their local communities. Whether it be sponsoring footy clubs, donating prizes for raffles or getting behind a cause such as mine.

Shout out to the team at Cellarbrations at Dover

This one hits close to home for me.

Cygnet Family Practice weren’t just a doctor’s surgery to me, they helped save my life. Their after-hours care and attention led to my bowel cancer being diagnosed when it could have easily been missed. That diagnosis changed everything and gave me a fighting chance.

To now hear about funding pressures and cuts impacting healthcare services is absolutely heartbreaking. Rural communities like ours rely on clinics like this. When hospitals are stretched and people can’t always travel, local GPs and after-hours care become lifesaving services, not luxuries.

People in small communities deserve access to proper healthcare just as much as anyone living in a major city. Cutting support or making it harder for practices to survive feels completely backwards when so many families depend on them.

My mum has spent her life working tirelessly to care for people and help her community through healthcare. Seeing people who dedicate themselves to helping others being treated like numbers on a spreadsheet is a real kick in the guts.

Healthcare should always be about people first.

Please support your local clinics, doctors, nurses and healthcare workers because once these services disappear, communities like ours are the ones left hurting the most.

Labor government and Albo should be ashamed
