Hello everyone!💜

My name is Sonia Lloyd and I am so honoured to be your 2026 Matron Of Honour Elect.

Having grown up in Grafton the Jacaranda Festival has always been a special part of my life and something I have cherished since childhood

In 1999 I became further involved in the Jacaranda Festival as a Queen Candidate. Then honoured to be crowned the Holiday Princess (Highest Fundraiser). A title that allowed me to represent the festival, connect with the community, and truly appreciate the spirit and tradition that makes Jacaranda so unique.

Years later, my connection to Jacaranda was reignited when my daughter Millie embraced the same spirit and became involved herself. In 2023, she was proudly named the Junior Jacaranda Princess, which was a truly special and full circle moment for our family.

Since then I have continued to stay involved as part of the Jacaranda family, contributing as a Candidate Director and enjoying the opportunity to support and guide the next generation of participants.

Outside of Jacaranda I am passionate about giving back to the local community. I volunteer at the Grafton Show, where I assist with the organisation of the Farm Produce section, something I find both rewarding and enjoyable. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and playing social tennis at Coutts Crossing Tennis Club. I feel very fortunate to share all these experiences with my family and the journey ahead that we will have together.

I feel truly honoured to be named the 2026 Jacaranda Matron of Honour Elect and am proud to continue being part of such a meaningful and cherished community tradition.💜
